The curtain has fallen for another year on the 111th Mid Somerset Festival, one of the largest and oldest performing arts festivals in the country. Hundreds of youngsters and seasoned performers entered the annual event, which is a celebration of music, speech, writing drama and musical theatre. In the last two weeks performers have impressed the judges with everything from Shakespeare verse, to piano playing and readings of short stories and poems. It was another very successful festival in all events, with a good number of outstanding results across the board.
