The Creative Writing Classes have an enthusiatic following from schools, private individuals and creative writing groups. We have been lucky enough to have had some wonderful adjudicators throughout the years who have provided positive and constructive feed-back to our participants. The entries are submitted in January and assessed by the adjudicator. On the first Saturday of the Festival, all entrants are invited to attend to present their work, in a friendly and rewarding atmosphere, with the adjudicator then commenting and making the awards. Many of the winning entries are published by the local newspaper. There is a wonderful atmosphere of creativity during the day, combined with many moments of hilarity - particularly during the Senior Section which takes place during the afternoon. Festival 2009 will continue to link Creative Writing with Performance in the Speech and Drama Section. This initiative adds to our ever expanding Creative Performance portfolio. We are delighted that Dr Rosie Bailey, one of our most popular adjudicators, is returning to us for our 2009 Festival.
