Poetry Writing (including Sonnet)The chance to submit original poetry writing is offered to all ages from 7 years through to Senior Level – 19 years and over. All entries are submitted prior to the Festival dates in order to he assessed by the adjudicator. There are trophies and certificates awarded in each class. Each entrant receives a constructive written and verbal report from the adjudicator on Creative Writing Day during the Festival and much of the work can be shared with the audience as well. Short StoryOriginal Short Stories can be submitted by age ranges: 9 – 13 years; 13 – 15 years and 19 years and over. These Classes produce a wealth of material and styles and are most productive and rewarding for all those who enter. Monologue and DuologueThese have been introduced with much success over the last few years and are extremely popular and entertaining. There is a Class in the Intermediate Section – 15 and under 19 years and also in the Senior Section – over 19 years. Set Title or Own Choice is given in each Class. The number of lines (in Poetry) and maximum words allowed (in Story, Monologue and Duologue) are set. Please see syllabus for appropriate class number and time limit. |
