1. All entries must be the original and unpublished work of the competitors and must not have been entered for any previous Mid-Somerset competition.

2. Marks will be subtracted for exceeding the set number of words.

3. Manuscripts and Entry Forms must be sent to the Creative Writing Secretary by Saturday 16 January, 2010 together with a large stamped addressed envelope for the return of any uncollected work.

4. For age limits see General Rule No.4. Also, please read carefully General Rule No.8 regarding Trophies and their return.

NB. It is hoped that all entrants will be able to attend the Festival Day on Saturday 6 March 2010 when the Adjudicator will be present to comment on their work and the Cups and Certificates will be presented.

A winning entry may be read at the Speech and Drama Concert on Saturday 13 March 2010.
