MID-SOMERSET CHORAL FESTIVALS 2013

A Choral day for Secondary School groups will open the Festival for the firsst time in 2013 and there will be a similar day for Adult Choirs to conclude the Festival on the final Saturday. All classes take place in the magnificent Georgian setting of the Banqueting Room in Bath's Guildhall, which is in the centre of the city. The Banqueting Room has a stage, excellent acoustics and seating for 300. Other facilities include changing rooms/warm up rooms and in-house refreshments.

Secondary Schools Choral Day

In 2013 the Secondary Schools Choral Day will take place on Tuesday 12 March. 

All age ranges have an opportunity to compete in a variety of classes. There are no set pieces and the ‘own choice’ classes vary from madrigals and sacred music to gospel and show songs.

Adult Choral Day

Adult Choral Day will take place on Saturday 23rd March.

A wide range of classes will offer opportunities to all choirs and smaller groups. 

The Thomas Hope Choral Award of £150 will be awarded to the most promising group of singers in the competitive classes.

 All groups are welcome and a much respected adjudicator will give written comments and advice.
