Mid Somerset Festival 6th to 20th March 2010.

"The dance, of all the arts, is the one that most influences the soul. Dancing is divine in its nature and is the gift of the gods" – Plato

The Mid-Somerset Festival has an established reputation for excellence in the performing arts and in its 109th year is very pleased to have celebrated its first Festival of Dance. Whilst the Festival has been traditionally centred in Bath, we have taken the opportunity to return to our roots in choosing a Mid-Somerset venue, The Merlin Theatre, Frome.

The first Festival was held in October 2009 and attracted competitors from all over the South West. It has been so popular that in 2010 we intend to extend the Festival to two days.

The world of dance offers many benefits, encouraging people of all ages to be more active, socialize within their local communities and develop creative skills. Dance in all its forms has become increasingly popular and embraces people throughout the world.

So please browse through our pages. We offer young people a wide range of dance styles for solo and group performance.
